Crates and training classes

Roxie has been reluctant to enter her crate, but happy enough once she's in it (having sweeties or a pig's ear to chew on seems to help :-) ) This morning she went back in voluntarily after going outside, and lay down.

Julie and I went along to a dog training class (Pets in Practise) to see if it would be suitable when Roxie is better (the next course begins in May). From what we'd heard and seen it seemed ok, and our visit confirmed this. The course was well run, all the dogs and owners got a chance to do all the exercises, and there was a good variety of things for the dogs to learn, and good use made of the fact that there were other dogs around.

When we got back, we left Roxie in the crate, so she didn't start to associate being in the crate with us being away (or her going into the crate with us being about to leave). When we opened the crate, however, she didn't want to come out, and had to be lifted out to get her outside for a wee before bedtime.
